Musah Lab Presents at NEAFS

Professor Musah, Megan, Allix, Amy, Monica, Benedetta and Alexa traveled to Niagara Falls, NY to present at the 2022 Northeastern Association of Forensic Scientists Annual Meeting. Professor Musah, Megan, Amy, Monica and Benedetta presented talks titled “Introducing the “Database of Psychoactive Plants” aka ‘DoPP’: A Graphical User-friendly Application for the Rapid Forensic Identification of Psychoactive Plant Materials”, “Things WE’ED Like to Know - How to Differentiate Hemp and Marijuana Varieties of Cannabis sativa with a Combined Ambient Mass Spectrometric and Chemometric Approach”, “Fly Curious: A Non-Destructive Approach to Entomotoxicology Through Direct Analysis in Real Time - High Resolution Mass Spectrometry (DART-HRMS) Examination of Insect-Ethanol Suspensions”, “The Twig is Up: Forensic Identification of Endangered Wood Species by DART-HRMS and Multivariate Statistical Analysis to Combat Illegal Logging” and “Trick or Weed - Application of Ambient Mass Spectrometry for the Detection and Quantification of Cannabinoids in Complex Matrices” respectively. Alexa presented a poster titled “What Came First, the Crime or the Egg? Analyzing Necrophagous Insect Eggs by DART-HRMS for Species Identification” and received the Peter De Forest Award for Best Poster Presentation.
