Kristen's Research on LADI-MS Featured in Article on Mass Spectrometry Imaging Techniques
In an article by Biocompare talking about advancements in mass spectrometry imaging , Dr. Chip Cody of JEOL discusses his excitement about our newly-developed technique, Laser-Ablation DART Imaging Mass Spectrometry (LADI-MS). He talks about Kristen's research, in collaboration with Dr. Ed Espinoza from U.S. Fish and Wildlife Forensic Lab, regarding the imaging and mapping of ion spatial distributions in endangered wood species. Professor Musah, Justine, and Kristen traveled to San Diego, CA to present at the 66th Annual Meeting for the American Society for Mass Spectrometry. Kristen presented a talk titled “LADI of the Wood: Imaging of Small-Molecule Spatial Distributions in Endangered Wood Species by a Novel Ambient Ionization Imaging Technique”. Professor Musah and Justine presented posters titled “Knot What You Think: Species Identification of Illegally-traded Woods by Direct Analysis in Real Time-High Resolution Mass Spectrometry” and “The Time He Dies as Told by Flies: Identification of Necrophagous Insects by DART-HRMS for Post Mortem Interval Estimation” respectively.
